Palm Pre/ Sprint Renewal?

Ok, I have the samsung instinct. I’ve had my contract since September and i’m looking to get the Palm Pre.

Now my question is, can i renew my contract now and get the $299 price or do i have to come close to my contracts end and then renew. Without new contract, the pre is about $599 and i dont wanna pay that much.
PLEASE HELP.
