You will need the following for developing on the iPhone:
- A Mac computer
- The SDK ( Software Development Kit ) from Apple.
- Learn the programming language Objective C
- Sign up as a developer for the iPhone.
- Submit your app to Apple to get into the App Store.
- Promote the heck out of it.
As for palm pre, not sure. Check the palm website for details about their SDK, and see what else they may require you to build apps for them.
